Christian Siriano Spring 2012
New York Fashion Week
September 10, 2011

Review: No longer will I introduce a collection by Christian Siriano by talking about his success on Project Runway, because he has much greater success in the professional fashion industry and his Spring 2012 collection proves why he should be seen as respected fashion designer and not as the guy who won Project Runway. Throughout the collection, Christian presented sharply tailored designs that fitted his focus on delivering a collection that was for effortless woman. The colour palette was fresh and clean, but he also used colours that were quiet bold including red and a distinctive neon green. Particular garments I liked included a neon chartreuse green maxi crepe trumpet skirt paired with a simple jersey shirt, a thick feathered skirt in the same colour as the maxi crepe trumpet skirt, and a sheer shirt-dress with a pleated skirt finished and ruffled fabric in a nude tone. Wide-legged trousers made a number of appearances on the runway. To be honest if women could really walk without them dragging on the floor and/or tripping up. The ending of Christian’s show was rather spectacular. He presented us with a bright red tulle ball skirt which looked beautiful on the dark coloured model. It showed us that Christian can work wonders with his fashionable fingers and also supports my reasons as to why he is a worthy winner of Project Runway. Overall I am more then impressed with the efforts of Christian and he has stepped up from his previous collection.
